Not so serious
John Steele finds out that Prenda lost their Lightspeed appeals
By Kat Anon and TAC
If for some (frankly, inexcusable) reason you know nothing about yesterday’s Prenda smackdown resulted from the April hearing in the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, these articles will bring you up to speed:
- Booth Sweet: Meet John Doe: Seventh Circuit affirms awards to Booth Sweet client in Lightspeed Media Corporation v. Smith
- Techdirt: Appeals Court Smacks Down Team Prenda… Again
- ArsTechnica: Appeals court: Shell game over, Prenda Law must pay sanctions in full
- Popehat: Team Prenda Is Too Much With Us
Now, enjoy the movie:
That was a thing of beauty. Thank you.
P.S. Now we just need to find Salt Marsh in the group outside the room.
I knew there was something else I could of brought up. Darnit. Totally forgot about Saltmarsh.
The programming school scam reference is a nice touch.
Idle curiosity question: has Steele ever won a case that was contested by competent counsel?
The Judge Noel trial? Maybe? Of course that was probably more Hansmeier and Erickson’s doing.
So far as I can tell, he doesn’t do things himself. He has others do them for him.
*bows to Kat*
I only helped a little… this is amazing…
No way, TAC, you helped set the tone. I was really struggling until you came in and gave me some lines to work with.
I never get tired of watching “Downfall” parodies, but I suspect Hitler took the fall of Berlin better than John Steele took this latest bench slap. After seeing so many courts quote directly from Otis Wright’s opinion I imagine the Prenda crew wishes they had been a bit more contrite and deferential when they had the chance.
Omg, that was awesome. Nice job on the video guys!
