Former Malibu Media attorney Paul Nicoletti found guilty on four counts of bank fraud
Former attorney Paul Nicoletti
Today, after deliberating for about 1.5 hours, a Detroit jury found a former porn copyright troll Paul Nicoletti (X-Art / Malibu Media) guilty on four counts of bank fraud. This prosecution was not related to Nicoletti’s porn trolling activity, although these events were not surprising: copyright trolling attracts all kinds of shady people.
Nicoletti was indicted in June 2015. After that, in what appears to be attempts to game the system, he managed to secure a delay after delay: I lost the count of judge’s orders to postpone trial and how many public defenders Nicoletti fired to buy more time.
I covered the indictment and subsequent events until I stopped about a year ago. If you are curious, you can fill the gaps by looking at the docket: you’ll find some interesting documents there (e.g., this one).
In this case the proverbial wheels of justice have been grinding particularly slow.
The sentencing was set to 9/24/2019.

6/4/2019
On 5/29/2019, the Michigan Disciplinary board automatically suspended Nicoletti’s law license. In the meantime, Nicoletti stays defiant and plans to file a Rule 29(c) Motion for a Judgment of Acquittal.

Not actually surprising. Manipulative sociopaths will do all they can to absolve themselves of responsibility and consequences. Even prior to Paul Duffy’s passing, his wife made it very clear on Facebook that the life strategy of a woman should be to marry someone rich and older, then cash out when the shorter life span of the average male runs out and retire away to some coastal home with a BFF.
Cashing out and filing bankruptcy after living a life of luxury is hardly an unfamiliar strategy to those in copyright scams. Just look at Norman Zada of Perfect 10, after he burned through his own finances trying to bully Google and other smaller sites into submission and whiffed every single attempt – he promptly had all of Perfect 10’s assets transferred to him and filed for bankruptcy.

That is when Nicoletti will be on the loose again!
At this point I think it’s fair to say that Nicoletti has milked the system for all it’s worth, with his legal “expertise” and network and resources to back him up.
I’m more curious about how his ex-clients are presently faring, after Colette goofed on the William Mullins gambit. The last we heard, she claimed her business and marriage were both failing because no lawyers wanted anything to do with their case (read: represent her pro bono), and after x-art inevitably defaulted on the payment owed to their victim (following an attempt to obfuscate where the money was by having Brigham set up another corporate entity to hold onto assets, in the style of Perfect 10 no less), Colette absolutely lost her mind when the court forced the payment processor to surrender a six-figure sum to Mullins. Colette then threatened to have Mullins, his legal team, the judge and the local judicial system investigated for fraud based on the evidence she’d collected, backed up by a crack team of lawyers who “specialized” in such cases – a team who was apparently completely absent when she was trying to defend herself against the Mullins counterattack.
It’s been six months since Leonard French’s last video, which was dissecting Colette’s sovcit-tier, threat-filled rant that she submitted as a legal document. The deafening radio silence is rather surprising – perhaps Colette finally learned to keep her yap shut, or the miracle legal team she swears exists managed to somehow talk her into stuffing her mouth.

Turns out the government doesn’t like it when you try and move assets around to obfuscate the money that you owe them, and having a track record of suing the innocent despite evidence indicating otherwise isn’t helpful either.
Mary Ann White Nicoletti was a principal in Continental Title which was the conduit for Paul’s fraud. She must have agreed to have all the joint assets put in her name only, and now this so-called husband is claiming he is a pauper. Why didn’t DOJ also go after her, so the assets couldn’t be shielded?

It’s rare for the families of lawyers to get nailed when the lawyers misbehave, even if it’s quite clear that something fishy took place. Paul Hansmeier’s wife Padraigin Browne almost certainly helped him fudge some of the paperwork and had a hand in his ADA trolling phase, but she hasn’t come across any known consequences.
I doubt the government would give up on that money so easily, but then if Nicoletti was worth any amount of salt, he’d have covered his ass adequately to ensure he doesn’t get absolutely nailed to the wall. More so if his wife got involved.
A name that will live in infamy for posterity!

His other partner, Mary Nicoletti, a licensed social worker with Ascension is sitting on his ill-gotten gains, as real assets were put in her name only even though she was a principal in Continental Title, the conduit for the felonies for which Nicoletti was deemed guilty.
Interestingly, Nicoletti claims he has:
1. Hemochromatosis, 2. High Blood Pressure 3. Obesity 4. Hyperlipidemia, 5. Cervical Disc Disorder.
However, there are NO medical records as exhibits and Nicoletti is a known, habitual liar.
If he is now obese, maybe he should consider exercising and losing weight which should have positive effects on his HBP, Hyperlipidemia, and put less stress on his Cervical Disc.
Per the Mayo Clinic, another medical sources, Hemochromatosis is manageable, esp. since it is secondary NOT primary as it was recently diagnosed.
Nicoletti should have considered these age-related issues before committing all those felonies, and ruining other’s lives.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has stated that the Covid pandemic “could near its end in 2023”.
Nicoletti states: “Social distancing and sanitizing are both impossible to achieve in a communal prison environment….”
However months ago, when the Bureau of Prisons was contacted, they assured all protocols were in place to protect inmates, and that outside contact was prohibited.

To Nicoletti’s credit, he’s at least not been as obnoxious as Paul Hansmeier. He might actually get some lenient treatment because he hasn’t run his mouth as much as Paul did.

Use of home rapid tests have significantly been reduced.
Many sources consider COVID to be out of the pandemic phase and into the endemic phase as other communicable diseases.

Nicoletti omitted the fact that the family home is in Troy Michigan, yet as of February 2021, Nicoletti, in pro per, was using this address on court documents:

It appears he was in exile away from the family home prior to his imprisonment!

In court, he stated he was working for a towing company.
Is this the same outfit involved in the corruption probe which involved both towing companies and garbage haulers, and sent multiple politicians and a “towing titan” and “trash kingpin” to prison?

Why does Nicoletti claim to be a pauper and have tax payers pay for his defense, when this article claims Fifth Third released more than $8 Million and Nicoletti’s restitution is only $5.3 Million. He titled his real estate in wife Mary Ann’s name, and claims she had to go back to work. Can’t believe she was naive in this scheme since she allowed Real Estate to be titled in her name.
