Sperlein volturarily dismisses Mayra Gonzales

As expected, today Mayra Gonzales (her story was covered by TorrentFreak here and here) was dismissed with prejudice from IO Group v. Does 1-50 inclusive case.

Since I’m pretty sure that the agreement prevents Ms. Gonzales from disclosing its terms, we most likely will never know the details.

After all the publicity, if any payment was involved, it is nauseous though not surprising. If not, then probably Mr. Sperlein realized that going after folks like her brings unwanted publicity and thus damages his little extortion business. If this is the case, I tend to fantasize that all the Does who were accused of downloading mislabeled files will be dismissed. However I’m not sure that common sense will win over greed.
